Joslyn, also known as Jos to her friends and family, comes from a small suburb around Cleveland, Ohio. She went to a large, diverse public school where she served as a Freshman Mentor and peer tutor to many students at her school. As a high school student, Jos centered many of her activities on science and serving the community. She completed medical research in Radiation Oncology at the Cleveland Clinic by analyzing toxicity rates in patients with HPV associated oropharyngeal cancer. She has also conducted research in Neuroimmunology. She translated her love for science to her community by teaching a science class to 3rd and 4th graders and tutoring many students in her community. She is very thankful that she had the opportunity to have mentors to help guide her through many aspects of life. This is why she strives to be a mentor to others and help the community in any way she can. At Yale, Jos is an active member of the Yale Sustainability Service Corps and the Black Student Alliance at Yale organization. Her other hobbies include spending time with her family and friends, crocheting, and bowling.
