I’m from Sydney Australia and I am one of 4 siblings. I attended a boarding school named Geelong Grammar School near Melbourne. Although I was born in Australia, my Mother is English and my Father is Irish/Australian. I was recruited to Yale as a member of the Heavyweight Crew Team and I’m currently a History major in Saybrook college. At school I was involved in Rowing, Australian Rules football, Debating and Philosophy.
My interest in teaching came from my parents’ wisdom and guidance, and my involvement in the Karen Homework Club in High School. The program involved tutoring refugee students from the Burmese/Thai border.
Outside of UIC, I’m involved in the Yale European Undergraduates group, and have just founded the Yale Students of the Tri-Nations group, which is comprised of students from Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
